Tips for prospective D/FA Conservatory students:

1) Take as many Envision day classes as possible before you apply, this will help you have a stronger portfolio

2) Pay attention and work hard in your art classes since your teachers will be writing evals for you

3) Put 100% effort into all your work

4) Have a positive attitude, be open to trying methods/materials, be willing to work with others

D/FA Conservatory meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm over the course of the entire school year. Students in D/FA Conservatory also work on a variety of public art projects, including ArtWalk murals and Chalk LaStrada.

Students who wish to pursue art beyond high school may choose to apply to the Envision D/FA Conservatory. Students in D/FA Conservatory study figure drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, digital imaging, digital photography, graphic design, and drawing. They gain a broad foundation in the digital and fine arts while developing a personal aesthetic and preparing a portfolio for post-secondary study. Students work under close mentorship of teaching artists.

Attendance is manitory. If a student has more than six absences in one term he or she may be jeopardy of staying in D/FA Conservatory.

Applications for Fall 2008 are accepted at two points in the school year. The next application due date is in Aug. 15th, 2008.
